How to Start a Podcast for Your Business in Las Vegas (Step by Step)

By Luis Barraza, CEO of G Media · Last reviewed September 2026

Pick one goal and one listener, choose a format you can repeat, and commit to a schedule you can keep for twelve episodes. Record video, not only audio, so each episode also feeds YouTube and short clips. In Las Vegas you can skip buying gear by booking a producer-run studio; at G Media your first fully edited episode is $149.

Step 1: What is the podcast for?

A business podcast needs a business reason. Pick one primary goal, because it decides the format, the guests and how you measure it.

  • Trust and authority: show buyers how you think before they ever call. Good for medical, legal, financial and professional services.
  • Relationships: invite the people you want to know, like referral partners, prospects and industry leaders. The guest list is the sales pipeline.
  • Content supply: one recording becomes a month of clips, posts and pages.
  • Recruiting and culture: let future hires hear what working with you is like.

Write the goal and the one listener you are talking to in a single sentence. For example: "Homeowners in Summerlin deciding whether to remodel or move."

Step 2: Which format fits you?

FormatEffort per episodeWorks best whenWatch for
SoloLowest to book, highest to prepareYou are the expert and like teachingNeeds a tight outline to hold attention
Co-hostsLowTwo people with natural back and forthInside jokes that lose new listeners
Guest interviewMedium: booking and prepYour goal is relationships or reachScheduling, and guests who are not a fit
Customer or client storiesMediumProof matters more than opinionPermission and privacy, especially in health care

Aim for an episode length you can fill with real substance. For most business shows that is 20 to 45 minutes.

Step 3: Audio only or video?

For most businesses, video. A video episode can go on YouTube as a full episode and be cut into short vertical clips for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube Shorts, which is where most people will first meet your show. Our podcast production guide covers audio versus video and what professional production includes.

Step 4: Buy gear or book a studio?

OptionUpfront costYour timeBest for
Build your own setup$2,000 to $5,000 in equipment, as a typical rangeSetup, recording and editing every weekSomeone who enjoys the technical side

A DIY setup also costs time you might not have. Every hour spent on levels, lighting and editing software is an hour not spent on the business.

Step 5: How do you plan the first episodes?

  1. Name the show for the listener, not for yourself. A plain name that says what it is about is easier to find.
  2. List twenty episode ideas from the questions customers ask you. If you cannot get to twenty, rethink the topic.
  3. Record three episodes before you launch, so you have a buffer and the first week does not look empty.
  4. Set up a podcast host, which gives you an RSS feed for Apple Podcasts and Spotify. YouTube can also take a podcast RSS feed, though many businesses upload the video version directly.
  5. Make simple cover art and a short trailer that says who the show is for.

For the recording day itself, use our first podcast recording checklist.

Step 6: How do you publish and promote each episode?

  • Publish the full episode on YouTube and your podcast feed on the same day each week or every other week.
  • Cut 5 to 8 short clips from each episode and post them over the following weeks.
  • Write show notes as a page on your website so the episode can be found in search.
  • Send each guest their clips and a ready-made post. Guests sharing is one of the easiest ways to grow.
  • Put the best episode in your email signature and your sales follow-ups.

Our guide to turning one recording session into a month of content shows the full calendar.

Step 7: How do you know it is working?

Downloads matter less than business outcomes for most company podcasts. Track guests who became clients or partners, prospects who mention the show, how often your sales team sends an episode, and how many clips earn comments or messages. Judge it after twelve episodes, not three.

How G Media does it

G Media runs a podcast studio in Las Vegas with four video sets at 4160 S Durango Dr, Unit 140: the Interview Den, Glow Lounge, High Roller and Cozy Corner. A producer runs the cameras, microphones and lights, and your episode comes back edited. Your first fully edited episode is $149 for a session of about 90 minutes. Full production can add clips, a search-ready YouTube upload, show notes and distribution. Recording at a convention? See our convention podcast booth. Tours are free and take about 20 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to start a podcast for a business?

Building your own setup typically runs $2,000 to $5,000 in equipment plus your time each week. Booking a producer-run studio avoids that: at G Media in Las Vegas, your first fully edited episode is $149 for a session of about 90 minutes.

How often should a business podcast publish?

Weekly or every other week, on a schedule you can keep. Consistency matters more than frequency. Record in batches so a busy month does not break the schedule.

Do I need guests for a business podcast?

No. Solo and co-host shows work well when you are the expert. Guests help when your goal is building relationships or reaching their audiences.

How long should a business podcast episode be?

Long enough to cover the topic properly and no longer. For most business shows that is 20 to 45 minutes. The short clips cut from each episode do most of the discovery work.

Can I start a podcast without any equipment?

Yes. A producer-run studio supplies the cameras, microphones, lighting and editing. You bring the topic and the conversation.
